What is Remmina ?

Remmina is a remote desktop client written in GTK, to use other remote desktops remotely from a tiny screen or large monitors.

Remmina supports multiple network protocols in an integrated and consistent user interface. The protocols currently supported are X2Go, RDP, VNC, and SSH.

This tutorial will be helpful for beginners to install remmina on Ubuntu 22.04, Ubuntu 20.04 LTS, and Linux Mint 20.3.

How to Install Remmina on Ubuntu

It can be installed on Ubuntu / LinuxMint via 2 methods

- Via Official PPA

- Via Flathub

Method 1: Via Official PPA

Step 1: Add the official PPA to the system

sudo add-apt-repository ppa:remmina-ppa-team/remmina-next

Step 2: Update the repository and install Remmina

sudo apt update && sudo apt install remmina remmina-plugin-rdp remmina-plugin-secret

Method 2: Via Flathub

Step 1: Install Flapak on your system using the setup guide

Step 2: Install Remmina using flatpak

flatpak install flathub org.remmina.Remmina

Step 3: Run Remmina

flatpak run org.remmina.Remmina
